From your PASSION to ours The Project Engineering Intern will provide critical support to the Project Engineer in various phases of industrial and manufacturing projects. In addition to assisting with design and implementation tasks, the assistant will play a key role in preparing project scopes, managing vendor relationships, and gathering relevant data for project execution. This role offers an ideal opportunity for an engineering student to gain hands-on experience in continuous improvement, facility design, and vendor collaboration, providing valuable skills for their future career. From your EXPERTISE to ours Key responsibilities for this position include: * Assists in creating documentation as justification for capital expenditures * Researches efficient production methods and flow, optimum utilization of space and equipment to present to the team. * Works with Plant Director, maintenance, quality assurance, safety, and other departments to ensure projects undertaken are consistent with plant needs and requirements * Participates actively as a member of the plant management team; provides necessary support for other plant functions/activities as determined by manager * Demonstrates professionalism in all aspects of plant's rules and regulations and encourages quality personnel performance * Develops and maintains positive relationships with purchasing, suppliers, and vendors regarding equipment and supplies * Performs design work including researching data, feasibility and economic studies, and determining design criteria in accordance with required standards for assigned projects * Maintains accurate and up-to-date project files and drawing, and identifying and corrective safety, ergonomic and operational problems through proper design of equipment * Reads, analyzes, and interprets a variety of instructions, manuals, and procedures in written, oral, diagram, and schedule form * Performs administrative duties in an accurate, timely, and professional manner (phone calls, voice mail, paperwork, meetings) * Participates in the of the capital budget, engineering goals, and plant objectives and works toward meeting and/or exceeding these expectations * Ensures proper documentation is provided as justification for expenditures and compliance to quality programs Requirements
From your STORY to ours Qualified applicants will contribute the following: Education * High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required * Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering (or degree in process) or equivalent experience preferred Experience * Previous employment in a food/dairy industry setting preferred * Previous project engineering experience or internship preferred Specialized Knowledge * Engineering Principles: Basic understanding of engineering concepts related to manufacturing and industrial systems. * Software Proficiency: -AutoCAD or SolidWorks: Proficient in using either AutoCAD or SolidWorks for creating and updating facility layouts and project designs. -Excel: Comfortable using Excel for data analysis and project tracking, with a willingness to enhance proficiency through learning and collaboration. -Python: Familiarity with Python is advantageous for streamlining tasks, although it is not required by the company. -Office 365: Familiar with all Office 365 apps, such as Outlook, Word, Teams, etc. * Continuous Improvement: Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma. * Facility Design and Ergonomics: Exposure to facility design and ergonomics, with ongoing coursework in these areas. Skills/Abilities * Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze data and solve problems effectively. * Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in managing vendor relationships and presenting project details. The ideal candidate will be proactive and dynamic, flexible and receptive to new ideas, down to earth and pragmatic and attentive to detail. Possess values of ambition and engagement, with simplicity. * Learning Attitude: Eagerness to learn new skills, adapt quickly, and ask for help when needed. * Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and meet project deadlines. They are capable of working independently in adherence to regulations, of managing stress and remaining calm under pressure, and be able to demonstrate an inquiring mind and well-developed observational skills. * Physical Requirements: Capability to work in both office settings and on the manufacturing floor, Interstitial space, for fieldwork and project validation. The ideal candidate will be proactive and dynamic, flexible and receptive to new ideas, down to earth and pragmatic, analytical and attentive to detail. He or she will also be capable of working independently in adherence to regulations, of managing stress and remaining calm under pressure, and be able to demonstrate an inquiring mind and well-developed observational skills. Will demonstrate a sense of responsibility and high professional standards, honesty and integrity, and objectivity. Sign On Bonus & Pay This position is not eligible for bonus or benefits. Base Pay: $22.30. Weekend premium: 20% more Hours: Days and hours are flexible to accommodate school obligations; part-time during the school year - full-time during summer. Salary Description
