Assistant Professor in Music

The Department of Performing and Fine Arts produces graduates who will be leaders and advocates in their respective fields in the performing and fine arts - music, dance, theatre, and visual arts. The Department is also committed to building community through the arts by being a resource for performing and fine arts pedagogy and performance, cultivating a climate where creativity flourishes, engaging the community with the arts, and making the arts accessible to all. The assistant professor position is a tenure track, 9-month appointment. The assistant professor is expected to teach courses in music, develop and teach new courses, advise/mentor students, and serve on department, college, and university committees. The assistant professor is also expected to engage in research and creative activities.

Qualifications in or experience teaching courses in one or more of the following areas: applied instruction in low brass, jazz ensemble, jazz improvisation, history of jazz, music theory, orchestration, and jazz ensemble.
