The basics of this position:

**This position is a FT Temporary position for the Spring 2025 semester only**
Faculty are members of the certificated staff, including department chairs, who are assigned for instruction, student services or instructional resources for not less than 50% of their total assignment. Faculty load involves the sum of all activities in which a College teacher is expected to be engaged that are related to professional duties and responsibilities. Faculty are expected to remain current with their instructional fields or disciplines through a planned program of professional development activities and to update and revise their course outlines and materials to reflect changes in content and/or methodology.

What you'll do:



  • Full-time Faculty duties and responsibilities normally include:
    Formal course contact teaching hours-teaching at least 5 courses in Child and Family Development each semester. Concepts that will be taught include but not limited to the basic aspects of developmentally appropriate practices, establishing environments, child growth and development, and curriculum design.

    Teaching in a variety of modalities for students to learn--on campus, face-to-face (which includes morning, afternoon, and evening classes); live virtual lecture, online, hybrid, and Hyflex.

    Providing at least 10 office hours per week for student needs

    Preparation and planning for instructing assigned classes in accordance with
    course objectives

    Preparing and correcting examinations and other student work assignments that align with course objectives

    Participating in one-on-one consultations with students and scheduling student conferences to review individual student progress when needed

    Assisting in student academic advisement

    Participation in program selection of course texts, instructional equipment,
    library books and non-print resource materials

    Participation in program development, evaluation and revision of course
    objectives and outlines, instructional strategies, and systems of evaluation of
    student learning

    Preparation and participating in CFD program meetings, including Advisory Board Meetings, adjunct meetings, student advising nights, and practicum orientation meetings

    Other responsibilities or assignments of full-time instructional faculty may include:

    Participation and collaboration with other departmental, divisional, campus and college-wide committees

    Appropriate assistance to adjunct faculty

    Assistance in student recruitment, job placement or transfer placement

    Sponsorship of student activities, groups or clubs

    Attendance at campus faculty meetings and institutional ceremonies or meetings

    Participation in recruitment opportunities and community activities

    The College reserves the right to assign other normal professional responsibilities
    as may be appropriate.



Education, experience, and other requirements:

Master's degree in the subject field,
or
A Master's degree with at least thirty (30) approved graduate semester hours in the
subject field and related fields,
or
For Specialized Career Fields:
Bachelor's degree with major in subject field and two (2) years of full-time college
teaching experience, and one (1) year of related full-time work experience,
or
Bachelor's degree with major in subject field and four (4) years of full-time related
work experience.
