Job Description

Under the supervision of the joint Principal Investigators (PI), the candidate will perform activities on multiple research projects. The candidate will be expected to work with a high level of independence, prioritize all aspects of research activities with minimal supervision, and self-initiate suggestions and approaches to research efforts. Research populations may include sexual and gender minority people, people who use drugs, and health care providers and staff. The candidate will analyze primary and secondary data, coordinate training events, ensure that research projects meet regulatory requirements, coordinate the work of students and staff, prepare budget reports, assist with project management and grant-writing, co-author reports and papers for dissemination, and perform other research-related tasks.

Requirements



  • Skill and experience in communicating with and about vulnerable populations including transgender and gender-diverse communities and people who use drugs.
  • Willingness and ability to maintain confidentiality of research participants.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with participants, staff, and supervisors.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with collaborators who are internal and external to the university.
  • Organizational skills to maintain records, coordinate tasks, and schedule/plan meetings and presentations.
  • Experience in academic research, preferably literature reviews and reports/papers for scientific audiences.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of personal computers and relevant software programs (e.g., data entry, word processing, spreadsheets) such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Competency with qualitative data analysis software preferred.
  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Sciences degree required, Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience with health insurance billing and coding preferred, ideally in clinical contexts serving gender and sexual minorities.
