Position Summary The Salvation Army St Paul Citadel Corps is "doing the most good" by providing holistic, person-centered services to individuals and families in need. In addition to worship services and pastoral care, services include short and long-term case management; food, clothing, utility, rent, and housing support; and connections to community partners. The Community Center and Youth Programs Manager oversees youth programs and community center operations, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment. Key responsibilities include supervising staff, volunteers, and youth activities; managing facility scheduling and rental groups; maintaining membership records; and planning educational programs. The role also involves community engagement, parent communication, budget management, program evaluation, and support for special events. $48,000 - $58,000 annually 401 West 7th St, St. Paul, MN 55102 Essential Functions (Approximate time spent) * Youth Supervision and Safety (20%): Develop, coordinate, and oversee after-school programs and summer camps, ensuring a safe, nurturing environment and addressing behavioral concerns. * Community Center Operations (20%): Oversee staffing, scheduling, access, and facility setup for internal and external group usage. * Program Planning and Coordination (15%): Develop and implement schedules for youth programming, focusing on educational, recreational, and spiritual growth. * Rental Group Oversight (10%): Supervise rental groups, ensuring policy compliance. * Community Engagement (10%): Build partnerships and represent The Salvation Army to enhance community involvement in youth programs and community center usage. * Parent/Guardian Communication (5%): Serve as the primary contact for parents, providing updates, addressing inquiries, and resolving concerns. * Membership Growth and Usage Tracking (5%): Oversee growth of community center usage, manage rental agreements and membership database, and track facility usage statistics. * Fiscal Oversight (5%): Monitor overall budget compliance and ensure programs operate within financial guidelines. * Program Evaluation (5%): Gather feedback and data to assess program effectiveness and identify improvement areas. * Seasonal and Special Event Support (5%): Assist in planning and executing seasonal events and community outreach activities. Education and Experience * Associate degree in a related field. Instead of a degree, experience may be considered. * Previous experience in community outreach, youth development, education, ministry, or related field. * Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; a senior soldier in good standing is preferred. * Must have current CPR and First Aid certification or be able to obtain it within 90 days. * Must pass background checks, possess a valid driver's license, and meet MVR qualifications. Competencies * Ability to lead youth activities successfully and safely. * Effective rapport-building and de-escalation skills. * High level of honor in dealing with confidential information. * Flexible interpersonal and communication skills. * Proficient with PC and Microsoft Office products. Working Conditions * Perform all physical aspects of the position, including being mobile, bending, reaching, and typing. * Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time. * Active participation in all activities. * Environment includes office and gymnasium; not eligible for a remote-friendly work environment. * Must be able to communicate clearly with colleagues, participants, and the community. * Work hours will include evenings and weekends.
