Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Specialist Reports To: Area Supervisor Department: Shipping/Receiving Summary: LEVEL 1 OPERATOR Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. The Shipping & Receiving Specialist role encompasses several job functions within the Distribution area. It is the intent that, as the Shipping & Receiving Specialist develops, they will learn all these roles to be a Level 1 Operator: LEVEL 1 Qualifications:
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training. Language Ability: Demonstrated ability to make successful presentations to individuals and/or groups at all levels of an organization. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to deal effectively with a variety of individuals at all organizational levels. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public. Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, inventory/database software and the internet. Necessary skills include; contact management systems, database software, design software, spreadsheet and word processing software Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
