Overview

Our Maintenance Specialists are hands-on professionals dedicated to repairing and maintaining campus buildings and surrounding areas. Maintaining the campus with a high level of pride is integral to the success of our students who are looking to change their lives through technical training. The ideal candidate is a versatile professional with experience in a range of repair and construction trades including painting, drywall repair, plumbing, electrical work, welding, and HVAC repair. Basic computer skills are required, and experience operating forklifts and scissor lifts is highly valued. Candidates must be able to work independently and have a team player approach.

What We Offer:

    Pay range of $20 - $24/hr, DOE.
  • No Weekend Work - schedule is Mon - Fri 9am-6pm

Responsibilities

  • Hands-On Repairs & Maintenance: Work across skilled trades like construction, plumbing, electrical, welding, and HVAC to keep our campus in top shape.
  • Problem-Solving: Determine the best tools, methods, and materials for each task to complete jobs efficiently and effectively.
  • Equipment Upkeep: Ensure all machinery and equipment are functioning properly, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
  • Proactive Communication: Alert management when major repairs are needed to maintain a safe and well-functioning environment.
  • Training & Mentorship: Share your knowledge by helping train other maintenance team members in essential skills, building a team of experts.
  • And More: Take on a variety of tasks to support the team and keep operations running smoothly.


Qualifications

Education / Experience

  • High School diploma or GED (or equivalent) required
  • at least 2 years of experience in building maintenance required

Skills

  • Ability to maintain professional image and work environment.
  • Must possess strong communication, planning, organization, and judgment skills essential for effective maintenance work.
  • Intermediate level construction, painting, plumbing, electrical and welding skills
  • Must be able to use hand tools, electrical test equipment and welding equipment

Abilities

  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for prolonged periods throughout the workday
  • Must be able to talk, see, hear, concentrate, think, learn and reason for all of the workday
  • Must be able to sit and walk or otherwise move around for prolonged periods throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to use a keyboard and do manual tasks for prolonged periods throughout the workday.

Work Environment

  • Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Regular business hours with occasional overtime required.
