JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

A postdoctoral scholar position is available in the Interfacial Phenomena Laboratory (IPHEL) in the Mechanical Engineering Department at The Pennsylvania State University.

Job Description:

  • This position is to work on the development of integrated thermal management for high heat flux communications and computing electronics under the supervision of Prof. Bladimir Ramos Alvarado.

  • Both, active and passive cooling technologies will be designed through multiphysics modeling and experimentally tested.

  • The postdoctoral scholar is expected to work in a highly collaborative environment in which electrical engineers, material/data scientists, and thermal engineers will collaborate to develop the next generation of microelectronics manufacturing.

Qualifications:

  • A PhD in mechanical engineering with a strong focus on heat transfer is required by the start date.

  • The candidates must have expertise in computational fluid dynamics modeling of conjugate heat transfer and experimental experience in a heat transfer laboratory.

Additional Information:

This is a term appointment, funded for one year from date of hire, with a possibility of renewal. Interested candidates should submit a CV, cover letter, and contact information for two references.
