Summary: Responsibilities: Demonstrates a fundamental grounding in nursing theory and practice with master of knowledge within a defined content area. Manage a caseload of patients in partnership with the healthcare team to optimize health status and coordinate care over time and across healthcare setting. Provides direct care to patients in the ambulatory setting in accordance with state licensure. Demonstrates advanced physical and psychosocial assessment skills. Collaborates in the development implementation and evaluation of standards policies procedures and critical paths to support the patient care delivery model. Assists the healthcare team to achieve mutually agreed upon healthcare goals by providing necessary support education and encouragement. Provides expert consultation for clinical issues promoting increased knowledge and skills for the consultee. Participates in continued health education and advocacy for our 16000 employees. Demonstrates team collaboration to optimize the health of our employees for work-related and non-work-related concerns. Annually completes mandatory training as assigned. Participates in department-based quality improvement. Utilizes all available resources to provide quality cost effective patient care. Provides leadership by delegating supervising and participating in nursing care activities provided by ancillary personnel. Serves as a role model to less experienced personnel. Performs other duties as assigned. Other information: Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island by the Rhode Island Board of Nursing or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing. BASIC KNOWLEDGE: Baccalaureate in Nursing preferred. EXPERIENCE WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Visual and aural ability to monitor patient status. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.
