SUMMARY

This candidate must be a Certified Level 3 in Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI). The candidate will need to be thoroughly familiar with NDT (FPI) testing procedures, customer specifications, work instructions, inspection methods, equipment, and techniques to process work. To be successful in this job, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



  • Responsible for Level 3 Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) testing/inspection.
  • Create written practice and surveillance of NDT personnel certifications (FPI).
  • Create written procedures for NDT (FPI) systems.
  • Create, review, and approve FPI techniques.
  • Train and test NDT (FPI) Level 1 and Level 2 inspectors per NAS410.
  • Use technical expertise in the selection and purchase of company portable equipment required to perform inspections.
  • Maintain processes and equipment needed to support inspections.
  • Work closely with Quality, Engineering, and Production organizations to solve problems and meet business commitments.
  • Support additional complementary and supplementary NDT methods as driven by needs of the business.
  • Complete RCCA's (Root Cause Corrective Actions) and MRB (Material Review Board) investigations as needed.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned based upon the needs of the business.



QUALIFICATIONS : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Required:



  • High school diploma/ GED required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) experience.
  • NAS-410 Penetrant Inspection (FPI) Level 3 Certification, with documented training and certification records.
  • Required to pass an annual NAS410 eye exam


Preferred:



  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in a technical field.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Extensive NDT application skills with 10 years of experience in an aerospace Overhaul and Repair environment.
  • Ability to interpret engineering part drawings.
  • Lean Mindset with Six Sigma Green Belt.
  • Strong Teamwork Skills.
