TSTC Benefits TSTC Retirement Plans Employee Discount Program Job Description: TSTC faculty deliver approved curriculum, content, and assessments in an applied learning environment. Responsibilities include facilitation of activities and discussions that engage a range of learning styles with targeted guidance and mentorship to students.Faculty will also interpret and administer assessments, and offer constructive feedback to support student growth and learning outcomes. A key part of the role is to integrate technology effectively to enrich the educational experiences. Faculty act as ambassadors for their programs and TSTC. Faculty will demonstrate TSTC Core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service and Integrity with internal and external stakeholders, customers, students and members of the community. * Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with students, faculty, and administrative staff * Demonstrates ability to employ teaching strategies grounded in educational theories and evidence-based practice * Demonstrates interest in and value for all learners * Show evidence of teaching abilities and maintaining current knowledge, clinical expertise, and safety in the subject areas of teaching responsibility * Demonstrate ability to develop, implement, and evaluate curriculum * Experience in the development, implementation, and enforcement of standards/policies for admission, progression, probation, and dismissal of students, and participation in academic guidance and counseling; * Current BLS certification * Demonstrate competency with use of technology that supports learning and teaching; Maintains a flexible schedule, including availability for evening, weekend, or summer assignment, as appropriate Preferred Skills, knowledge, and certifications or licenses * Preferred prior teaching experience. * Demonstrate proficiency in the use of Google and Canvas platforms * Ability to facilitate learning by creating an environment in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings that facilitates student learning and the meeting of identified cognitive, affective, and psychomotor outcomes * Knowledge of facilitating learner development and socialization by recognizing the responsibility for helping learners develop as nurses and integrate the values and behaviors expected of those in the role * Use evidence-based assessment and evaluation strategies to enhance teaching-learning processes * Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively to participate in curriculum design and evaluation that reflect contemporary health care trends and prepare graduates to function effectively in the health care environment. * Demonstrate ability to act as leader by incorporating innovative practices of educational environments * Demonstrates continuous quality improvement in role of nurse educator by demonstrating a commitment to lifelong learning * Exhibit a spirit of inquiry about teaching and learning, learner development, evaluation methods, and other aspects of the role * Ability to function effectively in nurse educator environment by demonstrating knowledgeable of the educational environment and recognize how political, institutional, social, and economic forces impact the role * Completes written clinical performance evaluation form in timely manner of students Education and Experience * Master's degree in nursing and three years experience.
