I. JOB OVERVIEW


Job Description Summary:
The Collaboratory: A Center for Jewish Education addresses the challenges of the American Jewish community today by pursuing creative, evidence-based, pragmatic solutions that inspire meaningful and sustainable change. The Collaboratory incubates innovative ideas, identifies and investigates critical issues, generates scholarship, and nurtures the development of professionals and leaders. All of the Collaboratory's programs are oriented toward elevating Jewish education and Jewish life and bringing research and learning opportunities to educators and professionals.

This experienced Program Coordinator position provides enhanced administrative support to the Collaboratory which includes CASJE (Collaborative for Applied Studies in Jewish Education), the academic programs in Israel Education, and the Mayberg Center for Jewish Education and Leadership's engagement programs (e.g., Fellowship & Summer Institute on Antisemitism & Jewish Inclusion, and other convenings and projects). The Collaboratory is housed in the Graduate School of Education and Human Development at the George Washington University.

This position will:

  • Coordinate all event logistics, including scheduling, securing venues, booking hotels and catering, arranging travel, organizing supplies, and processing honoraria, invoices, and reimbursements using GW software (e.g. Concur) and systems.
  • Provide on-site logistical support for events, including setup and cleanup, managing and picking up supplies and food, notetaking, troubleshooting, and assisting with real-time needs;
  • Request, submit, and monitor invoices, honoraria, and reimbursements for travel and events, consultants, procurement, and other expenses associated with center needs and sponsored projects.
  • Maintain and reconcile expenses for Collaboratory staff and track spending to align with budgets using excel and/or other software.
  • Assist Collaboratory staff with student communications and follow-ups to ensure timely and efficient enrollment, admissions, and graduation processes.
  • Coordinate schedules and maintain calendars for assigned staff, prioritizing and arranging meetings, conferences, and appointments with both internal stakeholders and external partners using Google Calendar, Zoom, and other software.
  • Support the composition of reports related to project funding requirements and prepare background materials as needed.


Perform other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a high school diploma/GED plus 3 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds is desired.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Word and Excel, Zoom, Gmail, and Google Calendar.

Hiring Range $21.27 - $33.16
