Job Description

We seek applicants for an open Radiologic Technologist to join our dedicated and high performing Radiology team. The Radiology Service at the Veterinary Health Center provides critical imaging services for both our large and small animal hospitals. Utilizing state-of-the-art equipment, our well-trained team provides high-quality diagnostic images, in a timely manner, and in a safe environment.

Typical duties for the position will include:

  • Assist in performing imaging procedures on both small and large animals including horses and cattle.
  • Assist with instructing students in obtaining diagnostic images of patients.
  • Perform or assist in performing procedures on several modalities which include CT, radiographs, fluoroscopy, or PET as required.
  • Coordinate positioning and restraint of animal for procedure.
  • Make appropriate entries into hospital information system (HIS) including billing for procedures.
  • Archive images into PACs system and attach to HIS record to assure indexing and accessibility.
  • Participate in imaging research or studies as required. Research imaging may include any species including rodents and domestic animals.
  • Maintain clinical areas to assure a clean and safe environment for patients and VHC personnel.
  • Order supplies as necessary, typically through the hospital Central Supply area of approved vendors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Veterinarians throughout the Midwest refer animal clients to the Veterinary Health Center for specialized diagnoses and treatment. With sophisticated therapeutic equipment that includes an underwater treadmill, advanced imaging techniques, and groundbreaking equine lameness diagnostic equipment, we are a center for animal healthcare.

Shift

Full-time 40 hours per week with typical hours being Monday through Friday, between 8a and 5p.

Minimum Qualifications

ARRT certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Radiography program graduates must obtain ARRT within one (1) year as a condition of continued employment in this job classification.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience working / handling animals is preferred by not required. Training in restraint and animal handling is provided if necessary.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $25.32-$30.00/hour
