Essential Functions:

Core Values: Demonstrate TSTC's core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity in all interactions with stakeholders, customers, students, and community members.

Maintenance and Repair: Diagnose and repair electrical issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime and disruptions.
Installation: Plan and execute the installation of new electrical systems and equipment.

Safety and Compliance: Conduct regular safety inspections and maintain up-to-date records of inspections and repairs.

Building Access: Enter occupied and unoccupied buildings with appropriate accompaniment.

Emergency Response: Assist in responding to electrical emergencies and outages to restore service as quickly as possible.

Equipment Management: Check out tools, equipment, and supplies as needed.
Vehicle Operation: Operate state vehicles and equipment safely.

Communication and Collaboration: Coordinate with other departments to address facility needs while providing regular updates to their supervisor.

Physical Exertion: Perform physically demanding tasks requiring strength and frequent moderate lifting (30-60 lbs), often in awkward positions.

Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Journeyman or master license.
• Six years combined training in electrician trade, 4 years with applicable license.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Valid Texas Driver's License and insurability under TSTC Liability Policy.

Working Conditions:

Exertion: Significant physical effort and strength required daily, often involving awkward postures and moderate lifting.
Exposure: Regular exposure to dust, grease, noise, inclement weather, and temperature extremes.
Risk: Occasional exposure to minor hazards controlled by safety precautions.
