MAJOR FUNCTION

Leads the warehouse teams to meet customer deadlines and delivery requirements.

Responsible for the organization, scheduling of staff, and directing the warehouse on a day-to-day work plan to ensure order accuracy, on-time shipping/receiving, and productivity levels. This role also manages the monitoring of outbound freight, UPS and FedEx small packaging shipments. This position also manages the shipping/receiving teams and team leaders as well as the Finished Goods and Logistics operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage team lead and service (parts) operation to meet customer demand.
  • Measure LPM (lines per man) shipped daily to ensure efficiencies.
  • Warehouse lay-out; continuous improvement; ensure cross-training thru-out dept.'s.
  • Assist management staff in communicating policies and procedures, as well as handling disciplinary issues when necessary.
  • Manage quality and access problems for quick resolution.
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of employees engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Assist Operations Manager in making shipping policy, procedures and work assignments to meet customer demand.
  • Provides recommendations of expediting shipping methods. May perform other assignments from time to time as directed by management.
  • Reviews measurement / KPI's reports and progress; generate various reports per management; review and approve vacation schedules for hourly employees and timesheets for payroll.
  • Notifies supervisor or planning department when major discrepancies occur, over-shipments or substitutions have been made. Will work with cross-functional logistic partner to schedule shipments; Oversees container loading activities sent internationally.
  • Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications;
  • Responsible for accurate movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.
  • Ensure quality and efficiencies; Schedule staff in the Finished Goods area and direct product to appropriate areas for storage.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; or 10 plus years as a front line supervisor in a warehouse environment.

EXPERIENCE:

At least 10 years of experience in shipping operations, with a minimum of 5 years of management experience in a warehouse environment.

KNOWLEDGE & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
  • Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of shipping procedures and regulations required.
  • Demonstrated supervisory, organizational and communication skills.
  • Must be a team player with all levels of management and departments with a winning attitude.
  • Sufficient skills to read manuals.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; ERP systems experience; Great Plains experience a plus.

$75,500.00-$100,700.00

The estimated pay range indicates the expected annualized pay range for this position. It may not include potential bonus incentives such as annual bonus' as well as sales and sales related incentives, or overtime (on eligible positions). The actual pay offered may vary based on several factors, including the applicant's qualifications, relevant experience, unique skills, education level, certifications or licenses, and the location from which they will work. The final pay determination will comply with state or local minimum wage laws applicable to the job's location. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
