Description of primary duties and responsibilities:
Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit:

FSU's Office of Strategic Communication ( OSC) is housed within the Office of the Chancellor. The OSC is charged with planning, creating, and implementing communication strategies to engage target audiences to include prospective students, current students, families of prospective and current students, faculty and staff, donors, partners, decision-makers and the media. The engagement aims to increase enrollment, partnerships, support, and financial contributions, per FSU's strategic plan.
Description of Work Continued:
Primary Purpose of the Position:

The digital content creator will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and executing Fayetteville State University's social and digital media presence, including supporting communications campaigns for all University events, and will work to advance storytelling and brand awareness efforts. This position is ideal for a candidate with a background in communications, social media, and digital media.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Knowledge skills and abilities:

  • Strong, creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and set priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and strategies to drive engagement and grow/increase presence across platforms.
  • Willingness to work during non-standard business hours.
  • Organized, self-directed and self-disciplined.
  • Writing must demonstrate attention to audience and detail.
