The Noel Drury, M.D. Institute for Translational Depression Discoveries is supported by a record $55 million estate gift from philanthropist Audrey Steele Burnand, the Noel Drury, M.D. Institute for Translational Depression Discoveries focuses on innovative approaches to understanding the mechanisms behind depression; improving diagnosis of the disorder; and developing personalized, scalable therapies for it, and, ultimately, better prevention strategies.


Your Role on the Team

As a member of the Noel Drury, M.D. Institute for Translational Depression Discoveries ("Depression Institute") leadership team, under the general guidance of the Chief Administrative Officer and the Institute Director, the incumbent is responsible for overseeing the operations and administrative functions of the Depression Institute, ensuring efficient resource management and coordination across multiple areas. Key responsibilities include liaising with stakeholders such as faculty, staff, students, vendors, visiting scholars, and external organizations and fostering collaboration. The position also requires maintaining the Director's complex calendar with discretion and confidentiality, managing financial tasks such as processing reimbursements, requisitions, and vouchers. Additionally, the role involves managing facilities logistics, maintaining equipment, handling supply inventories, acting as the safety coordinator, and overseeing human resources activities, including staff and academic employment, classification, training, TRS (Time Reporting System) and payroll. The position includes office management duties, such as answering inquiries, coordinating conference room schedules, maintaining contact records, managing maintenance requests, and overseeing outgoing and incoming mail. The role also involves supporting social media outreach and participating in special projects as assigned by the CAO and Director.

The expected pay rate for this recruitment is $31.72/hr to $36.30/hr.

Required:

  • Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff verbally and in writing.
  • Solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
  • Working knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs.
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience analyzing and organizing complex information and the proven ability to produce clear, comprehensive and complete reports based on that analysis
  • Skills in service orientation, organization, active listening, and critical thinking.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience

Preferred:

  • Experience with social media platform, which will be used to disseminate the lab's scientific discoveries, make outreach to various stakeholders.
