Maintenance Technician, (Sun-Tues and alternating Sat, 6:30 pm to 6:30 am)

The Role:

Our site in Bedford, MA seeks a Maintenance Automation Technician to join our team. The Maintenance Automation Technician position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks and assignments including the maintenance and repair of production equipment and facility infrastructure. The focus will be on equipment uptime and reliability, preventative maintenance, safety, troubleshooting, controls and automation equipment, and process improvements.

The hours for this shift will be Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and every other Saturday from 6:30 pm to 6:30 am.

What You'll Do:

• Perform preventive maintenance on a production equipment.

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electro-mechanical systems to minimize equipment downtime.

• Troubleshoot a variety of sensors and PLC interfaces.

• Update work orders with required data, work hours and equipment downtime.

• Work with production to ensure preventive maintenance activities are completed on time.

• Create work orders for any issues observed during daily walk throughs, or while performing maintenance.

• Participate as a team player in the management & operation of the assigned work areas. Activities may include training of equipment operators, development and execution of improvement projects, etc.

• Keep work areas clean and organized.

• Become certified in Spill Team / Hazwoper and follow all safety guidelines.

• Perform all activities in a safe and efficient manner.

What We Seek:

• Two year technical degree (controls, automation, robotics, electrical, mechanical - electrical, etc) (or) equivalent experience and training in a manufacturing environment.

• Knowledge of Solid works or CAD or equivalent, Word, Excel.

• Requires high degree of mechanical aptitude and creative problem solving.

• Requires hands on electrical experience.

• Requires advanced troubleshooting skills.

• Requires self-motivation and self-direction.

• Ability to work occasionally on weekends and overtime as required.

• Ability to work occasionally on call.

• Ability to work independently.

• Ability to train and support co-workers.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds at times.

• Must be able to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.

• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn on the production floor. This includes the use of safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and high-visibility vests.

• Adherence to cleanroom attire standards is required (when in cleanroom). This includes the use of specified protective gear and garments (gown, hair and beard nets, shoe coverings, and gloves) designed to maintain a clean and controlled work environment.

• This role involves working from elevated heights at times. Use of harness and other protective equipment are required.

• This role involves repetitively pinching and grasping hand tools, as well repetitively twisting and bending.
