THE ROLE:

AMD's server software and solutions engineering team is seeking a senior engineer to join our growing AI Special Projects team. This role requires deep expertise in x86 architecture, along with hands-on experience with GPUs, AI frameworks, and models. You will be responsible for performance analysis, benchmarking, and profiling AI applications on the EPYC processor and Instinct GPUs. Collaborating with product, marketing, and silicon development teams, you will help shape strategies for performance optimization, competitive analysis, and end-customer application tuning. This position is based in Santa Clara or Austin.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Extensive expertise in x86 computing architecture
  • Proven experience across the entire software development lifecycle
  • In-depth knowledge of kernels, virtualization, and security
  • Successful track record in contributions to open-source projects in particular to Linux KVM and open source VMMs such as QEMU.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • MS or PhD in Computer Science or a related equivalent
  • 10+ years experience
