Field Operations Supervisor (Southwest Super District)

As the Field Operations Supervisor at Crescent Electric, you will be responsible for providing operational leadership for multiple field locations within a geographic region. In this position, you will work with the Field Operations Manager to administer all warehouse functions to achieve timely and accurate product receipt, order fulfillment, and the optimization of resources and processes. You will develop and implement processes in compliance with company policies and procedures while continually driving improvements. You will demonstrate a passion for and experience leading hourly employees by driving initiatives to create and promote an environment where employees are involved and committed to the success of the Crescent Electric Supply Company.

Primary Duties:

  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of policies, processes, and procedures based on a data-driven and results-oriented approach that supports the successful execution of supply chain objectives. Work closely with employees to communicate and educate them on work instructions, policies, procedures, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure that performance goals are set and achieved through the proper execution of performance metrics as it relates to productivity, safety, quality, and service. Review various KPI's and records for accuracy and compliance with the established procedures.
  • Assess and establish appropriate warehouse staffing levels to optimize resources. Build high-performing, customer-centric teams by actively participating in the recruiting, training, and development of quality talent.
  • Conduct transactional investigations to determine the root cause of inventory inaccuracies. Facilitate formal problem solving, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective actions for all inventory discrepancies or related process failures.Lead projects and drive continuous improvement and partner cross-functionally, as needed.
  • Achieve a safety culture that involves high levels of employee engagement, addresses risk, and strives toward an accident-free environment. Provide input into the establishment of safety goals as well as policy and procedure development. Coordinate and conduct safety training as necessary to prevent injuries and create a safe work environment.
  • Model the company strategy, as well as communicate the core values of the organization to create a sense of teamwork and foster collaboration among employees. Support and drive organizational initiatives.
  • Achieve exceptional levels of employee engagement through regular and open communication, achieving two-way feedback and creating an environment where issues can be escalated, positively received, and resolved.
  • Provide and/or coordinate coverage and back-up support for other locations, as needed.
  • Supervise effective use of warehouse facilities to maximize utilization of space and equipment.
  • Work cross functionally across Supply Chain, Customer Experience, and Sales to resolve issues and minimize risk.
  • Attend company meetings and events as required. Overnight travel may be necessary.
  • Supervisory responsibilities, including assisting with hiring, interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proactive problem solver with the ability to provide creative solutions to a variety of challenges. Ability to collaborate with multiple teams and across functions.
  • Ability to analyze data and draw sound conclusions and recommendations. Demonstrated process improvement skills with the ability to develop and implement processes.
  • Ability to be reliable, open to change, and adaptable.
  • Ability to travel throughout the CESCO territory. Overnight travel may be necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field, or 2+ years of leadership experience in a distribution or field branch operations environment.
  • Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.

Physical Demands:

  • Occasionally standing and walking. Most of the time sitting, use of hands/fingers, talking/hearing. Often reaching with hands/arms.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 lbs. on an infrequent basis.
