JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Marcus Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering is seeking to hire a highly motivated individual to serve as the Administrative Assistant to the department head. The Department Head Assistant will support the department head by helping manage critical tasks including calendar, alumni relationship coordination, Promotion and Tenure, and faculty recruiting.

The College of Engineering is supportive of flexible work arrangements when aligned with the ability to meet the needs of the unit and the essential duties of the position. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage calendars, communications, files, and logistics for the IME Interim Department Head

  • Support Alumni relationship coordination and provide administrative and logistical support for the department's Industrial and Professional Advisory Council (IPAC)

  • Coordinate and assist with the Promotion and Tenure (P&T) activity for the department and act to promote necessary committee, serve as a resource to faculty candidates to assist with dossier preparation in the Activity Insight system

  • Manage and support the Faculty Recruiting efforts: coordinate correspondence with applicants; coordinate travel arrangements as needed and prepare interview schedules with applicants

  • Perform other duties assigned by the head of the department

Education and Experience

  • Minimum requirements for this position include an Associate's Degree and 4 or more years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Strong organizational and relationship management skills are required along with excellent time management, attention to detail, and Microsoft Office skills

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$42,100.00 - $61,000.00
