Janitor

Description:

The Janitor is responsible for maintaining a cleanly facility by completing a variety of cleaning tasks. Their duties include mopping and vacuuming floors, cleaning surfaces with disinfectant and emptying trash cans or recycling bins. Employee is tasked with upkeeping cleanliness of facility in all areas, upstairs and downstairs, except within production cells. You work independently ensuring that the building is kept tidy, sanitized, and presentable.

Responsibilities:

• Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors regularly
• Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms regularly
• Clean and maintain breakroom refrigerators/microwaves, as needed
• Dust and wipe down surfaces, clean and empty waste containers, and replace all trash can liners
• Clean glass surfaces, mirrors, and windows using appropriate cleaning solutions and tools
• Clean the interior of buildings including floors, carpet, rugs, windows and walls
• Disinfect commonly used items like desks, door handles, office tools and phones

• Maintain cleaning inventory, placing orders for new products when needed
• Stock and maintain supply rooms with cleaning and bathroom supplies
• Stock and maintain break rooms with supplies (utensils, napkins, coffee, etc)

Hours worked

This position normally works a 10-hour shift with a forty-hour work week. Some overtime may be required.

Qualifications:

Education, Experience and Skill Required:

• High school or GEDwith equivalent experience
• Ability to work with little or no supervision
• Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Problem-solving and time management abilities
