Corwin is seeking a motivated and highly organized K12 Education Purchasing Advisor to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to develop compelling and competitive proposals in response to Request for Proposals (RFPs) from K12 school districts, state education associations, and Education Service Agencies. RFP and Purchasing Advisor will also work with colleagues internally and externally to gain Corwin approval on state and regional vendor approval lists, enabling us to partner more frequently and more robustly with strategic State, Regional, District, and School accounts throughout the US.

Responsibilities:

RFP Proposal Development:


  • Proactively research and seek out RFPs for which Corwin is a suitable fit Analyze RFPs to understand project requirements, objectives, and evaluation criteria.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information and develop comprehensive RFP responses.
  • Write, edit, and format proposal content to ensure it aligns with the RFP guidelines and is tailored to the specific needs of the educational institution.

Vendor Approval Applications:


  • Partner with Director of Sales to create prioritized list of organizations with whom Corwin is seeking preferred vendor status.
  • Work with internal and external points of contact to complete vendor approval paperwork, meeting project milestones and deadlines for successful completion.
  • Upon approval from state and regional organizations, partner with marketing to inform clients and customers in key markets of Corwin's approved status, to drive leads to Corwin Sales.

Collaboration with Corwin Senior Professional Learning Advisors (SPLAs) and Clients, funding and grant writing support:


  • As time allows and upon request from Corwin Sales, work closely with Corwin SPLAs to understand client needs and help identify opportunities for funding, especially for new strategic partnerships.

Collaborate with SPLAs and Corwin clients to gather insights into their funding requirements and constraints.


  • Strong likelihood for grant writing support for external clients, so Corwin's services may be written into grant applications, and clients may secure funding for Corwin services.
  • Develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Proposal Submission and Tracking:


  • Ensure all RFP submissions and Vendor Approval applications are accurate, complete, and submitted within specified deadlines.
  • Maintain a tracking system to monitor proposal statuses, reporting, and outcomes. Collaborate with Corwin SPLAs to ensure appropriate tracking of RFPs within CRM.

Communication and Documentation:


  • Communicate with funding agencies, educational institutions, and potential grantors to clarify requirements and address inquiries.
  • Document and report on proposal outcomes, successes, and challenges to facilitate continuous improvement.

Knowledge Sharing:


  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in K12 education funding, grants, and RFP writing.
  • Share knowledge and expertise with the team to enhance the overall proposal development process.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in education, English, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years' experience in writing and responding to RFPs, vendor applications in the K12 education sector required.
  • K12 Educational Sales experience and grant writing experience strongly preferred and an asset for this role.
  • Knowledge of the K12 education landscape, funding mechanisms, and grant opportunities.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong research and analytical abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and proposal development software.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet tight deadlines and changing priorities.
