Job Description

The School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine are pleased to announce an opening for a Division Coordinator in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

The Department of Medicine's mission is to provide the best care to patients; create an excellent educational experience for students, residents, and fellows; and advance the understanding of human illness and disease through creative and collaborative research.
The Department offers outstanding facilities and a dedicated team of physicians, scientists, nurses and staff members committed to advancement in terms of scientific achievement, clinical service and medical education in 10 core divisions.
The Division Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of administrative functions and financial management/planning of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology Medicine and its service units. The Division Coordinator will coordinate administrative and financial leadership within the division to ensure the division is meeting the strategic goals of the School of Medicine and the University of Missouri.

This position will work closely with division directors, medical directors, program directors, faculty, and department personnel to achieve set divisional goals. This position will also actively participate in the development of strategy, long range plans, and financial planning. This position requires an individual who is organized; works well under pressure and can juggle competing priorities and deadlines. This position requires excellent communication skills. A grasp of the overall mission and objectives of the department within the School of Medicine is essential.

The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, and able to work collaboratively as well as independently. The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate successful supervision of other staff, work closely with other departmental and hospital staff, possess strong supervisory and delegation skills, be able to work in a fast-paced environment, interact effectively with diverse personalities, have initiative and vision, possess strong writing skills to prepare plans and reports, and the highest level of professionalism.

Duties include:

Collaborate with Department Administrator and finance team to monitor and track all division accounts.
Collaborate with Human Resources and Department/ Division leadership to manage faculty and Advanced Practice Provider recruitment.
Prepare and monitor quality, volume, and financial reports for the division
Monitor and facilitate completion of notes, mandatory documentation, modules, clinician licensure requirements and OPPE's through direct collaboration with clinicians.
Assist in processing PTO, FMLA, leave, and reimbursements and ensuring balances are updated and accurate.
Monitor professional practice income and RVU's generated from clinical operations.
Collaborate with Department Research Office on research opportunities.
Create and maintain staffing schedules.
Promote international and national conferences within division.
Assist in coordinating experiences for invited speakers lectures and endowed lectures.
Monitor and update Mission Based Management Program
Assist in the development and implementation of operating processes by following University's policies and procedures.
Supervise all non-academic staff within the division.

This position is non-exempt.

Shift

Monday - Friday, 8 am to 5 pm with occasional evenings or weekends.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

A degree in Health Administration, Public Health, or Business Administration. 1 year experience in a medical office within an academic setting. Previous health care experience and an understanding of academic and research mission of a university based practice is preferred. Knowledge of fiscal principles and computer applications (PeopleSoft Finance and Microsoft Office) is beneficial.
Knowledge of management principles and University Hospital regulations is helpful for success in this position. In addition to the technical aspects, this position will interact with all levels of administration, faculty and staff and therefore will need an expert level of professionalism

Anticipated Hiring Range

Hiring Range: $18.50 - $24.60
