Brief Summary of Job Duties: Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Sport Programs, the Sport Programs Coordinator provides leadership, operational oversight, and support for Youth Programs (primarily summer camps), the Intramural Sports Program, and Sport Clubs Program. The position plans, implements, and evaluates a diverse set of youth programs serving the university and local community, as well as a robust intramural program featuring traditional sports, non-traditional sports, and tournaments. The Sport Programs Coordinator recruits, hires, and supervises a large team of student staff, ensures adherence to safety and risk management policies, manages program budgets, and fosters an inclusive and welcoming environment for all participants. Misconduct Disclosure Requirement: 50% Program/Operations Youth Programs: Plans, organizes, and implements youth programs, primarily summer camps, ensuring all activities comply with campus, state, and federal policies for child safety. Develops program schedules, coordinates facilities, and oversees registration processes. Provides administrative coordination, vision, leadership, and strategic direction to the programs. Manages program registration and refunds, sets program procedures and offerings. Sets program procedures and offerings/schedules. Facilitates the scheduling of space for these activities. Intramural Sports: Works with the Assistant Director of Sport Programs to support comprehensive intramural leagues, tournaments, and special events, including officiated and self-officiated sports. Manages game scheduling, facility use, and equipment. Coordinates scheduling for facilities used for intramural programming, leagues and events. Works with the Assistant Director, Sport Programs on Intramural judicial affairs matters, due process, and disciplinary procedures that may involve any of the intramural athletes. Develops and designs standard forms such as accident/injury reports, incident reports, notice to appear, etc. to ensure a systematic approach to organization and management of programs. Sport Clubs: Under the direction of the Assistant Director, supports the Sport Clubs program by booking travel, making purchases, and other programmatic administration tasks. Develops and enforces policies and procedures to ensure safe, high-quality programming. Provides on-site supervision for large-scale, high-risk events and actively resolves participant concerns. 30% Personnel Management & Supervision: Recruits, hires, trains, and evaluates summer camp staff and assists with supervising Sport Programs staff (officials, supervisors, and assistants). Designs and implements staff orientation and in-service education, including training on child protection, diversity and inclusion, officiating standards, sportsmanship, Title IX, and risk management. Maintains current and comprehensive manuals in relations to policies and procedures. Develops leadership and professional development opportunities for student staff. 10% Budget Planning and Management: Develops and monitors the annual budget for youth programs and assists the Assistant Director for Sport Programs with the intramural budget, ensuring financial goals are met. Tracks revenue, expenses, and program performance; prepares financial and participation reports. Maintains accurate records of equipment inventory and coordinates lifecycle replacement plans. Is a primary flexcard and T/E Card holder and is responsible for adhering to both departmental and campus policy. Submits supply orders or reimbursements as necessary, within budget limitations and in accordance to both university and department policies. 5% Marketing and Development: Works with the marketing team to effectively promote programs to campus and community audiences. Supports fundraising campaigns for program development and scholarships in coordination with campus partners. 5% Miscellaneous: Serves on department and campus committees as assigned. Participates in departmental events and meetings. Other duties as assigned.
