Acara Solutions is seeking highly qualified candidates to work ON-SITE with our client in Newton, MA. Interested?

Here's what you'd do:

  • Design Verification (DV) will be a part of the R&D organization and an essential contributor to the realization of the next-generation robotic platform that will change the future of healthcare.
  • You will be a visible technical resource working on developing complex electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • There will be direct contributions from prototype to verification builds and testing within a regulated medical device development environment.
  • This role is suited for a senior-level R&D engineer.
  • Led design of complex DV fixtures from requirements, concept generation, and detailed drawings to design reviews and eventual print release.
  • Support product-level design work as needed.
  • Identify improvement points in the line-up of DV fixtures.
  • Assist in the development of firmware and software requirements for fixtures.
  • Author relevant documents related to fixture designs and DV tests.
  • Fixture qualifications and process validation.
  • Maintain disciplined test, configuration control, documentation, and configuration management processes throughout.
  • Support various multi-disciplinary technical and process improvement projects of different sizes and scopes.
  • Help with vendor communications and procurement issues.
  • Manage and communicate assigned projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Pay: $85.00 / hr.

Hours: 40 hrs/Week (1st shift)

Length: Contract (12 Months)

Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics or Robotics Engineering.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in complex electromechanical system R&D environment.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in heavily regulated industries such as medical device or aerospace.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in developing electromechanical fixtures, authoring documentation, and establishing verification tests.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in the design, assembly, and testing of electro-mechanical systems.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in industry best practices for developing complex electromechanical systems.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in DFM/A, Six Sigma, and statistical tolerance analysis.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in Product Lifecycle Management PLM software and ECOs.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in ASME drafting standards, including GD&T (Y14.5-2018).
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in developing production and fixture documentation, including bills of material (BOMs), assembly drawings/instructions, instructions for use, calibration, and maintenance instructions.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in fixture and process validation.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in cross-functional collaboration and technical leadership.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in project management, including task timeline estimation and work breakdown structures.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in using MS Office.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Masters Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics or Robotics Engineering.
  • Familiarity with ASME V&V (Verification & Validation) 40.
  • Previous experience in design transfer/new product introduction.
  • Demonstrated CAD proficiency.
  • Solid works.
  • Experience with statistical tools and software such as Minitab.
  • Experience using, modifying, and programming in MATLAB Simulink or LabView.
  • Able to execute assigned projects and duties with minimal supervision.
  • Outstanding documentation and communication skills.
