Position Summary

The TEASC Project in the Dept of Family and Community Medicine seeks a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Program Coordinator. TEASC is an interdisciplinary team providing clinical consultative services to adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities. TEASC services are provided state-wide and through multiple clinics. A second contract provides PASRR Level 2 evaluations for persons entering long-term care. The ideal candidate for this position seeks to establish a career with opportunities for growth, serving a diverse community, and working as an active participant in an interdisciplinary team. While this is a term-limited position, it is on a contract that has been renewed annually for over 20 years and is anticipated to continue.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Program Coordinator works in an administrative capacity with the TEASC team, and serves as a principal liaison between TEASC team members, UNM and community collaborators, and individuals referring clients or family members to TEASC and PASRR. Works with TEASC staff to coordinate Special Needs Clinic, a bi-monthly multi-disciplinary clinic, supporting all aspects of referral, scheduling, intake, and dissemination of clinic information. Tracks and distributes written reports for both TEASC and PASRR programs. Processes intakes and schedules PASRR evaluations.

Manages medical records and client database in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Develops reports on program activities and budget status. Actively participates in team meetings.

Writes, edits, and coordinates distribution of promotional and educational materials. Manages website and database. Coordinates annual client satisfaction survey. May supervise temporary and student assistants and coordinate their work.

Monitors program budgets, revenues and expenses, and provides travel planning, reimbursements, and purchases of equipment and supplies using a UNM Purchasing Card, ensuring compliance with UNM business policies and procedures.

Assists with development of annual budgets, contract forms, and grant/program proposals.

Conditions of Employment
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
  • All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.


Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualification:

Experience working in a clinical setting

Advanced writing and editing skills

Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with diverse populations

Experience working with an interdisciplinary team

Experience with adults with I/DD and/or behavioral health issues

Experience with UNM financial systems (Chrome River, PCard holder, travel, Purchase orders, budget forms)

Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Proficient with Zoom meetings

Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks with tight deadlines

This is a term position and will be renewed each year based on continued grant funding.
