What You Will Do:

As the AVP of Commercial Human Resources you will serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, providing expertise and guidance on a wide range of HR initiatives to drive organizational success and employee engagement. The Assistant Vice President will play a key role in shaping our Retail and Sales (Commercial) HR strategy and implementing best practices for driving people and culture initiatives to positively impact individual and team performance, employee retention, and employee development nationally. This person delivers superior customer service using a high touch approach and frequent visibility with employees and leadership to create trust and build relationships, acting simultaneously as an employee advocate and business partner with leadership. Additionally responsible for management and oversight of employee relations, recruitment and retention, training and development, succession planning, and overall adherence to all federal and state employment practices.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Strategic HR Leadership: Provide strategic HR guidance and support to assigned business units, acting as a trusted advisor to senior management on all HR-related matters. This includes workforce planning, talent acquisition, talent development, performance management, compensation & benefits, employee relations, and organizational development.
  • Talent Acquisition & Development: Lead the development and implementation of talent acquisition strategies to attract, develop, and retain top talent. Oversee the performance management process, identify high-potential employees, and create development plans to support their career growth. Champion initiatives that foster a diverse and inclusive workplace.
  • Compensation & Benefits: Oversee the administration of compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and alignment with market trends. Evaluate and recommend changes to existing programs to enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Organizational Development: Partner with business leaders to drive organizational change and effectiveness. Assess organizational needs, develop, and implement programs to improve team performance, and promote a positive and productive work environment.
  • HR Operations: Oversee HR operations, including HRIS systems, data analytics, and reporting. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of HR data. Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that are aligned with best practices.
  • Budget Management: Manage the HR budget for assigned business units, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Leadership: Lead regional human resources team of HR Directors and an HR Managers including direct supervision, hiring, training/development and performance management. Manage human resources team to leverage HR processes and drive key HR initiatives to support business objectives.

What We Are Looking For:

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree required in Human Resources Management, Business or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing HR strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to influence and build relationships with senior leaders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and data analytics.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills with a knack for building rapport and trust with partners and internal stakeholders. You understand that strong relationships are built on a foundation of mutual respect, open communication, and a genuine desire to see others succeed.
  • Experience in and familiarity with the professional beauty industry, and strong appreciation of beauty brands a plus.
  • Strong commercial orientation and business acumen
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%, including weekends as required
  • Must be able to remain stationary or sit for the majority of scheduled day.
  • Able to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment throughout the day.
  • Ability to use normal office equipment regularly (computer, printer etc)
  • Ability to lift 10 LBS
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
