Salary Range: $42.00-$50.00 Per Hour

SUMMARY: The Dockmaster is responsible for manage/supervise loading dock operations at DIA HQ and/or DIA Reston to ensure cargo is properly received, shipped, and documented. The successful Dockmaster will provide a quality of service consistent with logistics industry operations best practices and environmental hazard management achieving the requirements set forth by the customer in a safe and comprehensive manor.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Communicate with arriving vendors for proper traffic flow as well as Security and other departments for delivery, scheduling of materials, outside vendor deliveries, and to ensure safe and uncongested travel between the loading dock and the street level. Coordinate and stage items on the loading dock to include but not limited to:

    • Maintain a receipt and shipping log of all delivery, pickup, and disposal traffic through the loading dock and other dock bays in the service yard.
    • Supervise loading dock and warehouse operations to include shipping and receiving materials from supplier and agency departments.
    • Coordinate with DIA Police for any equipment that is attempted entry through any means other than the authorized entry point be re-directed to the only authorized entry point.
    • Controls access of all non-Government owned equipment and uncleared personnel on the loading dock at all times.
    • Maintain the loading dock, warehouse area, and hallways within the E1/F1 module, keeping them clean and orderly, and ensuring items are efficiently received, stored, and/or properly disposed of within 1 business day.
    • Arrange pickup from the established recycling and refuge contractors or arrange pickup with established HAZMAT/Universal waste contractors.
    • Report all deficiencies to Facility Management Department Representative.
    • Operate cardboard baling equipment and arrange for proper disposal.
    • Control assigned parking spaces ensuring only authorized vehicles park in the service yard.
    • Input Move/Turn-In request using Service Central and/or Form 682.
    • Coordinate and monitor scheduled and unscheduled daily/weekly waste and recycling container emptying.
    • Develop and maintain a quality control plan.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned by management




SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High school degree or GED.
  • Experience managing logistical operations in an active loading dock.
  • Certificates, licenses and registrations required: None
  • Computer skills required: Contract Management Systems; Inventory Software; Microsoft Office.
  • TS/SCI with polygraph clearance required.
  • EM-385-1-1 Level 2 or higher Safety and Health Officer
  • Other skills required: safe operation of and licensed or certified on any equipment operated in accordance with responsibilities
  • Must have a driver's license
