Are you passionate about delivering exceptional administrative support? The Calabasas Stein Eye Center, a multi-specialty ophthalmology practice, is seeking an enthusiastic Administrative Assistant to deliver a smooth patient experience. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Guide patients through check-in/out processes
  • Ensure accurate registration and insurance verification
  • Schedule appointments
  • Obtain medical records and authorizations as needed
  • Coordinate authorizations and referrals
  • Respond or route patient messages
Salary Range: $25.60-$36.33 Hourly
Qualifications Required:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a medical office.
  • Experience scheduling patient appointments in computerized appointment scheduling system.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills which promote pleasant and effective communication with patients, staff and doctors.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain records in a clear and orderly manner at the direction of the Office Manager.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology and diseases, as it applies to the eye.
  • Familiarity with current patient billing practices and knowledge of current governmental programs.
  • Sufficient computer keyboard skills to perform appointment scheduling, encountering, emailing, and other related computer tasks.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a systematic manner to maximize efficiency.
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions and to complete assignments in a timely manner.
  • Ability multitask effectively andwork independently with minimal supervision.
  • The ability to interact calmly and effectively with providers, staff, as well as patients with difficult personalities.
Preferred:
  • Two years' experience working in a medical teaching institution and/or in a ophthalmology practice setting.
