Job Title: Environmental Control Specialist

One position is available in Arizona, preferably located in an area around Tucson or Yuma, AZ. This position is contingent upon contract award (expected to be made in March - May 2025)

Business Service Line: Operations and Maintenance

Position Summary: The Environmental Control will be responsible for the performance of all work impacting the environment. Additional duties include but are not limited to tracking documentation and disposal of hazardous waste produced while performing preventative maintenance, identifying when new or revised permits are needed and managing Certifications and Permits program as required by the contract. The Environmental Control Specialist must be located in Arizona and be able to travel across the state.

Duties and Responsibilities:




  • Responsible for the performance of all work impacting the environment.



  • Scheduling and managing timelines.



  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements.



  • Ensure compliance applicable federal, state and local regulations, and company policies.



  • Conduct quality audits, inspections, and assessments to verify adherence to environmental compliance.



  • Must be able to respond to emergencies within 1 hour of notification.




Qualifications:




  • Five (5) years of experience in environmental control.



  • Must be able to pass a thorough background check to gain badging access to federal buildings.



  • Possess a valid U.S. driver's license with a clean driving record.



  • Strong troubleshooting abilities and the ability to use resources at hand to fix problems.



  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.



  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.



  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal



  • Must be able to review and edit reports and proposals



  • Ability to delegate work and handle multiple projects



  • Proficient with standard Microsoft office tools




Preferred Qualifications:




  • Degree in Environmental Engineering or related field.



  • Appliable EPA certifications.




PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:




  • Frequently required to stand.



  • Frequently required to walk.



  • Occasionally required to sit.



  • Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.



  • Frequently required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.



  • Continually required to talk or hear.



  • Occasionally required to taste or smell.



  • Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts.



  • Occasionally work in high, precarious places.



  • Occasionally around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals.



  • Frequent exposure to outside weather conditions.



  • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.



  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.



  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision; Distance vision; Color vision; Peripheral vision; Depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
