DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will oversee operations across two field offices, serving as a field office supervisor within a complex, statewide public health program. You will manage, mentor, guide, and collaborate with field staff assigned to inspect intermediate care facilities for individuals with intellectual disabilities, intermediate care facilities for persons with other related conditions, psychiatric residential treatment facilities, and community mental health centers. Your primary responsibility will be to evaluate these facilities' operations to ensure compliance with Medicaid certification regulations. You will schedule and participate in various survey types, including initial certifications, re-certifications, post-certification reviews, monitoring, death investigations, and complaint investigations. Work will be assigned through both written and verbal directives, along with the implementation of existing policy. You will make final decisions at the field office level and submit completed certification survey reports, working with considerable independence while reporting to the division director for guidance and informational purposes. This position spans the following counties: Adams, Blair, Bradford, Cambria, Carbon, Centre, Chester, Clinton, Columbia, Dauphin, Franklin, Fulton, Huntingdon, Juniata, Lackawanna, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lehigh, Luzerne, Lycoming, Mifflin, Monroe, Montour, Northampton, Northumberland, Perry, Pike, Potter, Schuylkill, Snyder, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga, Union, Wayne, Wyoming, and York counties. - Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position requires irregular work hours in order to meet department needs.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Scranton.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a Health Care Surveyor or Health Care Nurse Surveyor (Commonwealth titles); or
- Two years of health care survey experience and a bachelor's degree; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
This position requires within one year of hire successful completion of the relevant provider-specific federally mandated Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Training and Test (SMQT) administered by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, or an equivalent certifying body for the discipline. This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.
