Rockford Center is seeking a dynamic and talented Full Time Infection Control RN for our growing hospital.

Rockford Center is a 138-bed mental health facility located in Newark, DE, providing easy access to a full complement of inpatient and partial behavioral health programs for children and adolescents, adults, and older adults. Rockford is the only child inpatient behavioral health facility in DE, offers an experienced and tenured senior management team, and serves New Castle County and northern Maryland.

Position Summary:

In this rewarding role the Infection Control (IC) Nurse is a Registered Nurse who is responsible for coordinating the activities of the Infection Control Program, assuming direct responsibility for infection surveillance and reporting, and providing technical support and education for the hospital staff as well as the employee health compliance program.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Understanding of the principles of epidemiology and infectious disease in hospitals.
  • Develop and maintain a method for identifying, recording and monitoring known or suspected infections in patients and employees.
  • Collect and maintain statistical data in the identification and control of infections
  • Participate in infection control education of all employees.
  • Develop, revise, and implement infection prevention and control policies and procedures.
  • Ensure facility compliance with federal and state infection control standards.
  • Maintain close liaison with the Department of Public health.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Valid RN license required.
  • Two years previous Infection Control RN experience highly preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including PowerPoint Strong facilitation and organization skills
  • Preferred certification in Infection Prevention/Control (CIC).
  • Completion of EPI Intensive Certificate is required within 6 months of employment.
