Job Title: Senior Payroll Specialist Consultant
Location: Columbus, OH (on-site)
Contract Duration: 3-6+ months, with potential for extension


Job Overview
This Senior Payroll Specialist role combines payroll processing expertise with project contributions, supporting a global digital transformation effort to consolidate six payroll/HRIS systems into SAP SuccessFactors. The position requires a skilled professional with hands-on payroll experience, attention to detail, and the ability to handle complex, high-volume payrolls.

Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing (75%)
  • Process payroll for 500+ multi-state employees, including union and non-union environments.
  • Perform manual payroll calculations for gross-to-net, deductions, and tax compliance.
  • Audit payroll reports for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Handle garnishments, court orders, tax jurisdiction setups, and year-end W2 processing.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
Project Support (25%)
  • Assist in consolidating six global payroll/HRIS systems into SAP SuccessFactors.
  • Support testing cycles (UAT, E2E, Parallel) by creating and validating test scenarios.
  • Document payroll processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with global teams in Germany, the UK, and Norway to streamline systems.

Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of 7+ years in high-volume payroll processing.
  • Familiarity with ADP, Workday, Paycor, Paychex, SAP SuccessFactors, SAP PHP, or SAP ECP.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local wage and tax laws.
  • Experience with manual payroll calculations and complex payroll scenarios.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience with union payrolls and collective bargaining agreements (CBAs).
  • Exposure to Canadian or international payrolls is a plus.
  • Experience with digital transformation projects or system integrations.
  • FPC or CPP certification is a plus.
Education
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, HR, or related field preferred.
