Intercollegiate Athletics Job Description
The Coordinator of Football Academics will provide intensive academic support to an assigned group of student-athletes. The responsibilities of this position include monitoring academic performance, preparing and implementing individualized academic plans for each student-athlete, and monitoring NCAA and University of Missouri eligibility rules. The position will strive to build and maintain a rapport with a diverse population of students, coaches, staff, and university administrators. This position requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills and high ethical standards. This position will also work with one additional Olympic Sport as well as with Football. Key Responsibilities: Assisting with the academic support for the Mizzou Football Team. Advising, tracking, and monitoring students on course selection, major exploration and declaration, degree plans, transfer credit, internships and career preparation, financial aid, NCAA continuing eligibility requirements, time management, study strategies, and goal setting. Empowering student-athletes to make the most of their time at Mizzou and prepare them for the 40 years after Mizzou. Assisting with New Student Orientation. Working with campus advisors to ensure degree applicability of semester schedules and maintain up-to-date graduate plans for football student-athletes. Speaking to prospective student-athletes about being Mizzou Made and the academic and student development resources available to Mizzou student-athletes. Communicating regularly with coaches and instructors to assist in travel preparations and provide feedback and reports to coaches. Mentoring student-athletes on study skills, goal setting, test-taking strategies, and positive relationships with instructors and other academic support staff. Collaborating with the Director of Enhanced Learning to monitor students with documented learning difficulties. Corresponding with administrators and faculty members to ensure positive relationships are made between athletics and campus. Monitoring the continuing eligibility of student-athletes as part of the NCAA academic standards and regulations. Participating in on-campus recruiting activities and other duties as assigned. Abiding by all University, SEC, NCAA, and FERPA rules and regulations in an ethical and confidential manner. Shift
Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm; Nights, Weekends, and Travel as required. Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree and 1-3 years of NCAA Division I Football Academic experience is preferred. Anticipated Hiring Range
