The Cancer Center of Kansas (CCK) is seeking a full-time, on-site Accounting Clerk to join our team in our Wichita, KS offices. The typical work week is Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM with no major holidays, no on-call and no weekends.

What does this position entail?

Under general supervision, prepares, processes, and supports accounting activity as assigned for preparation of monthly financial statements. Assists with posting and processing accounting transactions. Directly reports to and collaborates with the practice Controller. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.


Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position are:

  • Assists in preparation of monthly financial reports.
  • Assists in balancing ledgers.
  • Sorts, codes, alphabetizes, verifies bills, charge slips, receipts and invoices.
  • Assists with review and distribution of monthly statements.
  • Assists with monthly closing process through preparation of journal entries, account analysis, preparation of bank reconciliations and creation of supporting documentation.
  • Assists with the coordination and processing of A/P and payroll for assigned area. Verifies, processes, and maintains all required information by scheduled deadlines and supports actions with appropriate documentation.
  • Works closely with practice management to provide assistance as directed.
  • Responsible for coding invoices into the standard chart of accounts.
  • Reviews payments to ensure that proper authorization and documentation of receipt are obtained.
  • Maintains required records, reports, and files.
  • Prepares and mails invoices.
  • Assists in preparing financial reports.
  • Establishes and maintains good working relationships with managers and members of other departments.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of practice and/or patient information.
  • Attends required, applicable meetings.
  • Remains current on all compliance requirements.
  • Ensures all applicable policies and procedures of the company and Network are followed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the position will have the following qualifications:

Education and or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum two to five years of medical office and/or bookkeeping experience.
