About the Role:
The Senior Director, Financial Planning and Business Analytics (FP&BA) is responsible for overseeing the FP&BA department, leading and communicating highly complex and critical financial and business-related analysis to Executive leadership and across the company at all levels. This includes analysis related to budget, forecasting, pricing, product investment, customer and business partner engagement, as well as all associated funding proposals and actions. The incumbent will partner with senior and executive leaders to facilitate understanding the financial impact and key business dynamics are intended to yield and to help determine funding needs and appropriate means to allocate amounts. Furthermore, the incumbent leads the review of significant business proposals that may require in-depth business analysis or complex cost estimates. The Senior Director leads business analysis across the Company by identifying and managing the metrics and key performance indicators (KPI) reporting process to continually assess outcomes of prior investment decisions. The Senior Director regularly monitors the financial performance of business decisions so that proactive corrective actions can be taken, if necessary. The Senior Director leads the preparation of annual budgets and long range financial forecasts, including progress against plan and comparisons to prior projections, and recommends mitigating actions when risks exceed opportunities. The position requires deep business knowledge and insights as well as independent thinking and working with limited supervision. They will represent the Finance function in organization-wide initiatives such as senior management meetings, steering committee meetings, prospective funders, and Board of Directors. They will also lead the quarterly forecast process with executive and senior leaders, managing both the profit and loss (P&L) as well as cash flow and balance sheet forecasting, and preparing and delivering Board of Directors presentations. The position will be responsible for leading a team and managing the grant financial reporting process and engaging with senior leaders. Currently, this is a remote-first position, and this position may be required to periodically work on-site at our office and the frequency would depend on the department/division's requirements. Therefore, candidates must either reside within a reasonable distance to commute to our office or be willing to travel to our office in Herndon, when required.

Partner with Accounting and HR leadership as it relates to process improvement of time tracking, distribution code tracking and payroll systems.)
- Partner with service line teams to complete analytical work; create, refine and report service line performance metrics to management.
- Serve as an advisor to the CFO in managing the Clearinghouse's corporate finance activities, including credit lines and other financial transactions
- Lead preparation and presentation of all Board of Directors communications, including annual and interim reporting packages, liquidity threshold analysis, and risks and opportunities frameworks.

- Act as the primary contract owner within Finance and manage contractual obligations of each party and provide continual review to ensure that all terms and conditions are met to mitigate potential risk.

- Support capital allocation decisions, including evaluation of funding strategies and investment opportunities.

What You Bring to the Table:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. A combination of education and/or experience, including military service, will also be considered.
- 10+ years of directly related experience in Financial Planning and Analysis.
- 5+ years of experience performing in a management/supervisory role, managing others, exercising independent judgement, including the ability to lead, motivate, develop, and focus a team.
- Experience composing targeted and concise reports in the form of narratives, tables, and graphs, and comprehending and translating strategic and tactical goals into assessment measures.
- Budgeting, forecasting, and planning.
- Experience developing proposals and recommendations to address business needs and improve efficiencies across an organization.

Additional Desired Requirements:
- MBA in Finance or Master's in Business Analytics or similar degree.

Additionally, we reasonably believe that the salary range for this position is between $205,000 and $235,000. Bonus eligible.
