Job Description |
ECU Office of Research and the Office of Innovation and Engagement are seeking a graduate student to support communication, multimedia and marketing efforts during the Spring 2025 semester. This position offers an excellent opportunity for students to gain practical experience in the public communication field while contributing to initiatives that expand the university's research, innovation, and community engagement efforts.
This is an in-person, in-office position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Edit and update existing design templates for various marketing materials (e.g., flyers, social media graphics, LCD screen graphics, email graphics), ensuring brand consistency
- Create new, visually engaging graphics for promotional use
- Attend and document events by capturing photos and videos to be used in promotional materials and social content (*could involve some after-hours work)
- Assist in developing creative and engaging content for social media channels, aligning content with marketing goals and brand voice
- Provide support in brainstorming and implementing campaign concepts
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of design and content based on feedback
- If applicable, occasionally assist with audio/visual tech support for meetings and events
- Provide assistance with other communication tasks as needed

Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.) |
- Current graduate student at East Carolina University, preferably pursuing a degree in Communications, English, Marketing, or Graphic Design. Other fields will be considered.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative suite (e.g., InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Photography experience a plus
- A/V support experience a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to think through and complete assigned projects with minimal guidance and meet material deadlines
- Residing in the Greenville, NC area (or within driving distance) during the Spring 2025 semester
