Use your skills to make a positive, lasting impact. As a National Manger, Transportation and Infrastructure, you'll develop transportation initiatives that will make our communities thrive for generations to come.

Terracon is seeking a National Manager to support our growing Transportation and Infrastructure business sector. We provide services to state DOTs, cities, and counties throughout the country as well as to our national AEC client base. Our projects focus on major highway, bridge, and roadway projects, airports, and other critical infrastructure projects such as rail and water/wastewater. Our revenue in the sector is approaching $300 million of our $1.3 billion in annual revenues across our over 180 office locations.

As a National Manager, you will be part of the Sector Team responsible for collaborating with leadership to develop and execute Terracon's national business and client development strategy and sales strategy to drive continued growth and success in the sector. This includes working with your team, our service line directors, and our current network of regional
transportation teams in our operations to execute a strategy that includes growth and diversification of services. You will report directly to the National Director for Transportation and Infrastructure.

Remote position with periodic overnight travel to our corporate headquarters in Kansas City, as well as travel associated with managing a geographically diverse team, working with operations, and client and project pursuit meetings. A home base location near a major US hub airport is preferred.

Essential Functions, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Collaborate to develop a strategy for our Transportation and Infrastructure Sector including short- and long-term growth objectives.
  • Work with local, regional, and national company leadership in building alignment for the execution of strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with the Alternate Delivery division on overlapping growth strategy and implementation.
  • Develop client and business opportunities that align with our core services, risk tolerance, and financial objectives.
  • Understand market trends, analytics, and opportunities and ability to communicate information as part of continuous improvement and necessary adjustments to short- and long-term strategy.
  • Build, engage, mentor, and provide developmental opportunities to your direct team and indirect teams (regional transportation teams)
  • Ability to drive change and adoption through leadership and influence
  • Align activities with existing strategic initiatives such as Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and client experience objectives.
  • Work closely with and build relationships with clients and transportation and infrastructure-related agencies.
  • Provide senior-level development of major project pursuits, proposals, and IDIQ contract opportunities and ensure that client commitments and schedules are met.
  • Actively participate in professional and technical organizations.
  • Work closely with the sector director and other national managers in support of the success of the sector program at Terracon
  • Foster a continuous safety mindset personally and within the sector's influence.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in technical discipline practices by the Firm including Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Science, or Geology, and 15 years of relevant work experience in the engineering and construction industry, emphasis in the transportation sector.
  • Successful leadership and execution in the development of growth strategies and previous experience with the execution of major transportation and infrastructure projects or IDIQ contracts.
  • Strong ability to influence without authority, to facilitate and maintain successful teams who report to others
  • Strong knowledge and relationships with DOTs, and AEC firms in the transportation and Infrastructure sector. Experience with public and private transportation clients and owners. Strong verbal and written communication skills focused on responding to executive leadership, client requests, and owner/stakeholder needs.
  • Strong safety mindset, acceptable driving record and valid driver's license, ability to pass a background check, and drug screen required.
This position has been categorized as a "Remote Only" position. "Remote Only" employees do not have a designated workspace at an office, and typically work from home or another location.

The national standard salary range for this position is $132,600-$205,500. The base range may be adjusted based on the specific location of the applicant. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
