Tools Development Engineer

The Tools Development Engineer creates software and features that will be used to drive efficiencies in the tools we use in our R&D process Helps to make design decisions that support the R&D process and team. Be able to document new tools/features in the code as well as provide documentation to the R&D organization. Work closely with the R&D process engineer to ensure the R&D tools support and provide efficiencies in process and reporting. Ensure quality code and follow best coding practices.

The first focus will be on standardizing our use of Azure Dev Ops in our defect management and reporting. This will require a good knowledge in developing Azure Dev Ops work Item standardization and process that will be part of the standard R&D process.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Development of new features/enhancements with our R&D Process tools i.e. Azure DevOps.
  • Designing/planning/pitching new tool/enhancement ideas.
  • Maintenance and sustaining our existing tools with bug fixes.
  • Potentially helping with automated scripting.
  • Problem investigation and resolution.
  • Working with other teams on issue resolution as well as planning/designing for new enhancements/features.
  • Providing documentation on new features/enhancements.
  • Participate in knowledge transfer sessions when applicable.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of professional experience
  • Azure Dev Ops experience and/or other Defect management systems
  • SQL experience
  • Experience with a Version Control System
  • Desktop Application development
  • Power BI
  • API Dev.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.

Locations: Liberty Lake, WA; Austin, TX; West Union, SC

The base salary is $80,000.00- $137,000.00.

Physical Demands: This is a typical office job, with no special physical requirements or unusual work environment.
