The primary duties of the Civil Project Engineer include:




    • Serve in a technical role under the direction of a Project Manager on the design of highways and roads, and waterfront and aviation infrastructure projects.
    • Design alignments and profiles, geometric layouts, utilities and drainage infrastructure, and develop plans, specifications and construction estimates.



* Take responsibility for performing complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection, and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures

* Perform engineering calculations and create technical reports.




    • Provide engineering services during construction, including responding to requests for information, reviewing material submittals, and performing construction inspections.
    • Working independently on small to medium size tasks and function as a technical specialist or project manager.
    • Being responsible for supporting the development of new and existing Transportation clients in Hawaii and the Pacific Region.



Required Qualifications:




    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
    • Hawaii PE license strongly preferred or ability to obtain prior to hire.
    • Minimum 4 years of experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
    • Experience with AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3d, and Microsoft Office programs.
    • Strong communication and organizational skills.
    • Preference given to local candidates


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Previous experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Hands-on experience with Highways and Roads CAD engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation and Open Roads Designer and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3d
  • MS Office knowledge
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Experience should include urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout and CAD base alignment plans
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions.
