The primary duties of the Civil Project Engineer include:
- Serve in a technical role under the direction of a Project Manager on the design of highways and roads, and waterfront and aviation infrastructure projects.
- Design alignments and profiles, geometric layouts, utilities and drainage infrastructure, and develop plans, specifications and construction estimates.
* Take responsibility for performing complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection, and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures * Perform engineering calculations and create technical reports.
- Provide engineering services during construction, including responding to requests for information, reviewing material submittals, and performing construction inspections.
- Working independently on small to medium size tasks and function as a technical specialist or project manager.
- Being responsible for supporting the development of new and existing Transportation clients in Hawaii and the Pacific Region.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Hawaii PE license strongly preferred or ability to obtain prior to hire.
- Minimum 4 years of experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3d, and Microsoft Office programs.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Preference given to local candidates
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Previous experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Hands-on experience with Highways and Roads CAD engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation and Open Roads Designer and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3d
- MS Office knowledge
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Experience should include urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout and CAD base alignment plans
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
