Johnson County's Department of Aging and Human Services is recruiting for a Nutrition Program Coordinator which assists in the coordination of the Johnson County Area Agency on Aging Nutrition Program. Job Description

Additional duties include:

    Manages the operation of the Nutrition Center programs; oversees and supports the daily operation of all designated programs; works with local communities to gain support for programs; evaluates and identifies customer and program needs; coordinates quarterly Nutrition Center staff meetings/trainings; performs other responsibilities that support the nutrition program; ensures State and Federal program requirements are met.
  • Assists in the development of and coordination of nutrition programs; assists Nutrition Program Manager with grant proposals/projects; coordinates with outside agencies to provide programs; creates ongoing nutrition education.
  • Manages and supervises staff, and volunteers to ensure achievement of the goals of the program; ensures that staff receives training required to perform duties and provide position coverage; keeps manager informed of staffing issues that may affect the program, county, or department; supports department and county initiatives and projects by communicating them to staff in a positive manner; encourages participation by all team members; seeks staff input as appropriate to foster a climate of openness and teamwork.
  • Coordinates customer assessments of program statistical reports and monitors for accuracy; ensures that state and federal reporting requirements are met; prepares monthly congregate reports; data entry for nutrition programs into customer database.


Job Requirements

High School diploma & two (2) years' of experience in management, food service, hospitality or relevant experience are required.

A Bachelor's degree in food service management, human services, public administration, dietetics, nutrition, social work; or relevant field and one year leading, directing, supervising, or coordinating the work of others are preferred.

Experience may be substituted for education.

A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required. Must be able to successfully pass criminal background screening.
