Responsibilities

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Microsoft Project Scheduler to support the development, review, and maintenance of integrated schedules for complex tactical engineering efforts. This position will be based at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), supporting Department of Defense (DoD) customers. The ideal candidate will facilitate Microsoft Project-based scheduling operations for a wide portfolio of tactical design and development efforts, ensuring effective timeline management across multiple teams and projects.   • Schedule Development & Maintenance:
    • Develop, document, maintain, and analyze multiple project sub-schedules and Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) using Microsoft Project.
    • Collaborate with project leadership, engineers, and key stakeholders to create realistic and executable schedules that align with program goals, milestones, and resource availability.
  • Facilitation & Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Act as a facilitator throughout the schedule development process and the lifecycle of engineering projects, engaging with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all schedule elements are aligned with project requirements.
    • Foster communication among multidisciplinary teams to track and review schedule progress, adjusting as necessary to ensure timely deliverables.
  • Earned Value, Schdule Integration & Risk Analysis:
    • Maintain and update Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Organizational Breakdown Structures (OBS), schedule plans, and baselines to reflect changes in scope, resources, and priorities.
    • Perform critical path analysis and variance analysis, conducting schedule risk assessments to proactively address potential delays or issues.
  • Reporting & Documentation:
    • Prepare, update, and present clear and concise schedule reports, documentation, and presentations for leadership and stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
    • Provide regular updates on schedule performance, progress, and risks, and facilitate decision-making through well-documented schedule forecasts.
  • Collaboration & Coordination:
    • Work closely with project leadership to ensure that schedules are synchronized with overall project milestones, resource planning, and budget management.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and quality assurance, to ensure timely delivery of milestones and project objectives.

Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • At least one (1) year of experience in project schedule development using industry-standard scheduling tools, such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
  • Skills & Tools Proficiency:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with strong knowledge of Excel for schedule analysis, reporting, and data visualization.
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Project, including the creation and management of Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
  • Communication & Collaboration:
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively present and explain complex schedule data to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Experience collaborating in multi-disciplinary teams and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Clearance & Citizenship:
    • U.S. Citizenship required, and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
    • Selected candidate will need to pass a background investigation.
