Rehab Clinical Specialist Job Responsibilities:

  • Initiates/performs educational activities within the hospital with the appropriate subject matter expertise and level of presentation relative to the audience.
  • Maintains an open communication channel with the Rehabilitation Management team and staff.
  • Demonstrates fiscal responsibility and knowledge about supplies, equipment billing and staff resources; Demonstrates fiscal responsibility and knowledge pertaining to supplies, equipment, billing, staff resources and other items used in the department.
  • Assumes a leadership role in department committees, processes and special projects.
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively facilitate positive outcomes with conflict resolution.
  • Selects/implements evaluation and treatment methods appropriate to patients' diagnosis, age group and physical/emotional status.
  • Uses advanced skills in treatment techniques - particularly neuromotor handling, facilitation/inhibition and positioning techniques.
  • Ensures that feedback from patients, families and staff consistently reflects excellence.

Rehab Clinical Specialist Additional Requirements:

Certification - Basic Life Support; Documented advanced study/training in NDT (for PT and OT) and Dysphagia (SLP)

Licensure - Eligible for Virginia licensure in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Therapy

Experience - Five years of neurorehabilitation experience

Education - Bachelors Degree in Physical or Occupational Therapy or Master's Degree for Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
