Job Description

Position Summary
Schedules, plans, and dispatches Damage Prevention field assets in response to excavation activity. Monitors risk model output for locate requests and takes appropriate action. Actions include, but are not limited to, dispatching assets for stand by on critical assets, difficult locate assistance, and proactive patrolling.

Tasks and Responsibilities
* Schedules and dispatches technicians, both internal and external, for workloads based on current excavation activity
* Compiles, tracks, and organizes information from various sources and data systems for damage prevention daily activities. These sources include the Damage Prevention Risk Model, Optimain, Fluix, Google Earth and Smallworld, WG facility mapping programs, WG Fleet tracking programs, and jurisdictional One Call Centers
* Provides support in the collection and documentation of WG damage data to meet various jurisdictional reporting requirements
* Serves as a technical advisor on Damage Prevention practices
* Maintains a working knowledge of current regulatory/jurisdictional code requirements related to Damage Prevention
* May serve in a rotational on-call capacity to meet business needs
* Performs documents and tracks electronic and field contract performance/quality audits

* Receives schedules and maintains documentation associated with all Locate requests involving transmission pipe and blasting when used as a method of excavation

* Compiles and tracks documentation of ROW patrolling to meet various jurisdictional requirements

* Schedules transmission standbys, blasting standbys and compliance patrolling and marker post installations to meet various jurisdictional requirements

* Monitors and responds to our damage prevention hotline

* Sets up meetings with Washington Gas employees to work through difficult locates

* Monitors the PAR program and takes action when required. (risk management tool)

* Performs UtiliQuest Billing audit

* Responds to and sets emergency notifications for standbys

* Responds to and manages the Washington Gas cross bore notifications program

* Provides and monitors the exposed transmission forms that are shared with mapping and TIMP DA3 process

* Other related duties, tasks, and projects as assigned

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
* Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required
* 3+ Years of experience is required
* Experience in excavation damage prevention, natural gas operations, or work planning/dispatching is preferred

* Demonstrates ability to use computer software and applications, including Microsoft Office, to share, retrieve, research and present business information
* Demonstrates working knowledge of the natural gas industry and work management principles
* Demonstrates working knowledge of mapping and documentation systems, and electronic locating equipment
* Demonstrates ability to establish rapport and effective working relationships with business partners, supervisors and peers

We offer a competitive salary range of $62,000 to $90,500 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
