Senior IT Unix Systems Engineer

The Senior IT Unix Systems Engineer is responsible for maintaining and configuring Unix based systems and applications. This role requires experience in Unix administration as well as proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, and Bash. The Senior IT Unix Systems Engineer must also possess strong problem-solving skills and be able to work in a team environment.

• Automate using configuration management tools
• Maintain, configure, and troubleshoot Unix based systems and applications
• Design and implement Unix based solutions for various business needs
• Develop and maintain scripts using programming languages such as Python, Perl and Bash
• Monitor system performance and implement necessary updates and upgrades
• Ensure system security and compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end users
• Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure proper system integration and functionality
• Use of Data Storage Technologies such as NetApp
• Provision and maintain user access with Delinea Server Suite
• Configure RHEL Satellite Server

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or commensurate experience
• 5-6 years of UNIX/Linux sysadmin experience supporting medium to large development, test, and production environments
• Experience with HA, virtualization, and cloud technologies
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure
• Strong communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Experience with Data Storage Technologies (NetApp)
• Experience with Single SignOn Tools

• Experience designing solutions for Linux/Unix Server for both on-premise and public cloud
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Terraform) for automation tasks
• Excellent written communication skills, for example seeking buy-in from non-technical parties

• Knowledge of data storage technologies such as NAS and SAN
• Knowledge of ID administration tools such as Delinea Server suite
• Prior working knowledge on configuring, monitoring and troubleshooting RHEL pacemaker cluster

Desired Skills

• Experience designing solutions for Linux/Unix Server for both on-premise and public cloud.
• Working knowledge of networking services such as: NFS, DNS, LDAP, NTP, etc.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Terraform) for automation tasks.
• Experience with cloud-based infrastructure architecture and deployment.
• ITIL Certification a plus
• Cloud certification a plus

Working conditions are normal for an office/hybrid environment.
