Responsibilities

The Senior Data Engineer plays a pivotal role in shaping and optimizing the company's data infrastructure, enabling robust data processing, storage, and analysis. This position focuses on designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and systems that support business intelligence, analytics, and data-driven decision-making. Collaborates closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure data availability, accuracy, and performance across the enterprise.

Essential Duties:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to support the company's data infrastructure.
  • Optimize and manage the performance of data warehouses, operational data stores, data staging and databases, ensuring high availability and low latency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver reliable data solutions.
  • Implement data governance and best practices to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Build and maintain data models, schemas, and data flow diagrams to support analytical and reporting needs.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data systems to resolve issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
  • Develop and enforce data engineering standards, processes, and methodologies to ensure consistent data architecture across projects.
  • Lead the integration of new data sources and systems, ensuring seamless data flow across the organization.
  • Mentor junior data engineers and provide guidance on best practices in data engineering and architecture.
  • Stay updated with the latest data engineering technologies and methodologies, recommending and implementing improvements as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, CIS or related field. Or equivalent work experience and/or post high school education in related field.
  • 6 years of experience in data engineering or related fields, with a strong focus on building and maintaining large-scale data systems.
  • Expert knowledge in SQL for data manipulation, modeling and analysis.
  • Proficient in programming languages, preferably .NET, C#, and/or Python for data ingestion/replication.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and their data services. Preferably Azure, Azure Data Factory and Azure Service Buss.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT processes, and data modeling techniques.
  • Familiarity with data governance and security practices, including compliance with data privacy regulations.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality data solutions.
