Lutheran Social Services of Illinois is a not-for-profit social service agency with more than 70 program sites throughout the state of Illinois. Our services include counseling, mental health, substance abuse treatment, housing, work with prisoners and their families and services for older adults and a variety of services for children including preschool, foster care, and adoption.
Behavioral Health Services of LSSI is hiring a part-timeNurse Practitioner.
The Nurse Practitioner's
leadership is a multidimensional activity that includes the direction and oversight of administrative, operational, educational, and clinical actions related to patient care activities in the Substance Use Service Line programs, including providing access to FDA-approved forms of medications to be used in the delivery of services in the Residential Rehabilitation programs. It assures that care provided by Substance Use Service Line program personnel meets the standards of quality medical and psychiatric care including integration of physical healthcare, Mental Health, and SUD treatment.
The Nurse Practitioner's
oversight is a cooperative effort requiring other Substance Use Service Line clinicians and staff working together for effective treatment and service delivery. The
Nurse Practitioner
must have a collaborative and cooperative approach to working with Substance Use leadership and staff, as there are many who will work in concert to ensure the Substance Use Service Line programs are functioning optimally.
The
Nurse Practitioner
role is one of guidance, standard setting, monitoring, and assuring the delivery of a good standard of care for persons being treated and served by the Substance Use Service Line programs. The Nurse Practitioner should be a role model in their interactions with others for delivery of care that is recovery oriented, customer centered, culturally competent, inclusive, and welcoming of diversity.
The
Nurse Practitioner is a medically qualified prescriber with the ability to provide psychiatric and medical services focused on health promotion and addiction recovery. Provide evidence-based prescribing practices and interventions with an emphasis on shared decision-making, tailoring treatment to an individual client's symptoms and preferences, and assessment of therapeutic response and side-effects for individuals participating in programs under the umbrella of LSSI's Substance Use Service Line.

Essential Functions:
The Nurse Practitioner must be a qualified Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, or certified Physician's Assistant with the authority to ensure the medical component of care and the delivery of services, including clinical oversight, and compliance with regulations and policies/procedures.
