Overview
The Secretary of State's Office seeks an enthusiastic and civic-minded paralegal to assist the Office's Municipal Assistance and General Counsel Division. This division of the Secretary of State's Office helps to promote transparency and accountability in Vermont by assisting citizens in their interactions with their state and local governments and guiding municipal officials in carrying out their elected duties. Strong communication and customer service skills are a must. Work is performed working closely with the Secretary of State's General Counsel and Deputy Secretary of State. Job duties include:

This position,Paralegal - Temporary (Job Requisition # 52051), is open to all State employees and external applicants. This is a temporary position. Temporary work is typically for variable hours, and is not expected to be full-time. The State does not guarantee 40 hours of work per week. Bachelor's degree AND three 3 years or more of experience as a paralegal. OR Possession of paralegal certificate AND two 2 years or more of experience as a paralegal. OR Juris Doctorate J. D. degree. Equal Opportunity Employer
