Overview
The Vermont State Archives and Records Administration (VSARA) seeks an innovative, versatile, and service-oriented information professional to provide reference and research services to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders seeking access to, or information from, records preserved in the state archives. The ideal candidate for this public-facing position has a background based in archives, information and computer science with political science or government history experience that includes legal research and demonstrated ability to assist in: (1) planning and leading projects and initiatives involving State archival records; (2) creating and delivering robust informational tools and resources designed to promote knowledge and understanding of Vermont through its laws and public records; and (3) preparing and presenting formal reports and recommendations on a broad range of subject matters. The Government Archives and Information Specialist is the primary contact for VSARA's research and reference services, which includes providing onsite access to State archival records through our public reference room. Master's degree or higher in archives, library, or information science or in the broader information management field AND two (2) years or more of professional RIM work at the RIM Specialist I level or equivalent. Total Compensation
